Gallos Blancos vs Jaguares - by year's end these may be the two lowest scoring teams in the league. Jaguares played well in their 1-0 win over Nexaca last week but needed a fantastic free kick goal by Saveedra to change the scoreboard. I expect they'll be cautious and defensive in road matches especially in a game like this, against a team playing 1st match in top flight...very tricky match. Queretaro are really poor, for sure, but were doing fine in defense until the red card last week when score was 1-0. Of course Veracruz dominated from there but I don't see much offense on the field for 3+ goals tomorrow. Gallos Blancos / Jaguares under 2.5 goal 3/10 @1.99
Pumas vs Veracruz - title challenger vs relegation candidate IMO. Books with nice offer here because of last week's results but Veracruz played an awful Queretaro team while Pumas outplayed Atlas in the Sat night match. I counted 5-6 great chances missed within 15m of Atlas net right in front of goal but some pathetic finishing and a fortunate counter attack by Atlas produced the loss. Really is tough to judge if Veracruz is one of the 4 worst (my prediction) teams in the league because they played the absolute worst team last week, at home. I have to trust my ratings and my guy...does not hurt that Pumas are 7-1-1 when hosting Veracruz in last 10 years. Pumas 5.5/10 @1.833
Morelia vs San Luis - San Luis piled on the pressure last week but could not get one past Ochoa in their 1-0 home loss in a match they should have won. Similarly Morelia did not play a match that you'd expect no goal scored with 17 shots and 8 corners and they will be really tough at home. Like I said in my preview, Morelia may have the best starting 11 in this league but they disappointed so badly last year it's tough to bet them more this season. Still I have to rate Monarcas as a title challenger and San Luis at the bottom so have to take this bet even though typing Morelia gives me hesitation. Morelia 3-0-0 at home vs San Luis. Morelia 5.5/10 @1.87
Chivas vs Santos - if last week is any indication Santos will not be a playoff threat because of defensive frailty. Chivas are a team I left out of the top group just because of their nasty underachieving habit but they have the talent to win the title. el Bofo misses, suspended, but otherwise they are fine. Medina and Bravo should be too much for the Santos back 4. Chivas are unbeaten in 8 when playing Santos in Jalisco stadium. Chivas 3.5/10 @1.78
Monterrey vs Pachuca - Monterrey are better than Pachuca IMO and they did play well last week at Santos. Pachuca reaffirmed my belief that the champion curse is upon them with a poor display at home, losing 3-2 to Cruz Azul with 1 of their goals coming by way of own goal. Sabah and Chelito had some other aggressive runs that Pachuca narrowly cut out or the scoreline would have been less flattering. Pachuca were constantly being outrun and were forced into 5 yellow cards because of their lethargic play. Rayados are as dangerous as Cruz Azul and will apply plenty of pressure at home. Monterrey with a solid 8-2-1 home record against Pachuca with 9 of 11 reaching 3 or more goals. Monterrey 2/10 @2.30 (also many 2.25's out there) and over 2.75 goals 2.5/10 @ 2.21 (pinn)
All odds from pinnacel except the monterrey -1/2 ... pinn have -1/4 1.80
